Can I conceive after an ectopic pregnancy and a missed abortion?

Q: I am a 30 years old female trying for conception. I had a cyst in my right ovary, which was removed with the help of surgery. After the surgery, the doctor told me that I had ectopic pregnancy in my right fallopian tube that had to be aborted. The injured right tube had not been removed. The doctor then asked me not to try for pregnancy for the next six to eight months because my right tube was slow and the chances of ectopic in future were high. I conceived again last year but the growth of the baby was slow and I had a missed abortion. I am really worried. Can I ever conceive successfully?

A:Sure you can get pregnant again and will succeed as well. You will need to undergo tests to find the cause for the miscarriage like a blood sugar test, TORCH test, VDRL, and urine culture. Most cases are due to a fetal defect. You can also take folic acid supplement for three months before planning a conception again. After you conceive, you will need to take rest and avoid heavy work and sex till three to four months.
