Can a person suffering from oligospermia father a child?
Q: If a person has oligospermia, are there any chances for his wife to get pregnant? What are the other alternative ways?
A:Sperm count less than 20 million is known as oligospermia. As the counts fall below this level, the chances of pregnancy become less but do not become zero. Oligospermia can be improved depending upon the cause for e.g. correction of varicocoele if present. The alternatives are IUI, IVF (test tube baby), and donor sperm injection besides adoption. But the first line of treatment is correction of oligospermia.
