Are stitches required after a missed abortion?
Q: We got married last May. As both my wife and I are employed, we wanted to postpone having a baby so we aborted the first pregnancy. After that we gave a gap of 7 months for the next pregnancy but unfortunately the second pregnancy was a missed abortion perhaps due to some long bus journeys. The doctor advised her to get stitches in case of pregnancy the next time and my wife is very worried about this. Are these stitches necessary for a woman if she has had 2 abortions? What precations are required for the subsequent pregnancy?
A:No stitches are required after a missed abortion and MTP. All you need to do is go to a good gynaecologist who could guide you correctly and possibly give you progesterone support during your wife's first 3 weeks of pregnancy.
