Q: I am 73 a years old male, physically fit and active. I exercise regularly, play golf and go for morning walks thrice a week. My blood pressure is under control with drugs. I just got my routine lipid profile, blood urea test and serum test done. My Blood urea is 2.1 and my creatinine level is 2.1. To what extent is my kidney damaged?
A:Your kidney function is mildly deranged. You need to keep your blood pressure under control targeted at less than 130/80 mm Hg. Should get an ultrasound abdomen KUB, PSA levels and 24 hrs urine protein measured.
