Q: I have hepatitis A and am getting married. But, I do not want my wife to get infected from this virus. Please suggest what should I do?

A:The fact that you have had hepatitis A virus infection would mean that you would have formed anti bodies against it and will not pass on the infection as you would not carry the active virus. It is also likely that your future wife, like most of the population might have had a mild form of the infection that could have gone unnoticed and could be immune already. If not I suggest vaccination against the hepatitis A virus. Consult your physician.
