Why was I asked to undergo apical lordotic & anteroposterior chest x-ray?

Q: I am going to Australia. I was asked to take apical lordotic and anteroposterior chest x-ray. What are they actually suspecting? I have already taken a chest x-ray. What can they predict from this x-ray?

A:The apical lordotic view and the anteroposterior chest X-Ray views show the apical regions of the lung in a much better way than the conventional PA view. Whenever there is a doubt of a disease process in these areas or if the PA view shows an abnormal or doubtful shadow in this area, these additional views are resorted to. These are particularly useful to assess the lungs for any tubercular infection.
