Q: I am having a terrible itching sensation in my left ear and an inflammation below the ear. I had it checked by an ENT surgeon few days back who suggested Ceruklin ear drops and Neoloridin tablets for 10 days. This provided relief for sometime and cleared up the dried wax but now the itch has returned though there is no wax. I have also caught a cold. Please suggest remedies to reduce the pain & itch.

A:You could be having a very sensitive canal and there could be an eczema of the ear canal. Sometimes a wax drop in such ears doesn't help, you should keep your ear dry and clean. No water, no soap, no usage of picks or buds for cleaning. Maybe you can use a cream with some steroid in it. Also, kindly consult your ENT surgeon.
