Why is there itching all over my body?

Q: I have an itching problem all over the body. Unless I take Cetride it is uncontrollable. Kindly tell me if there is any way out for this as well as the side effects of taking Cetride in the long run? I am 55 years old and I am still getting my periods but not much bleeding is there. Is it normal or should I consult a gynaecologist? Whenever I sneeze or cough, I urinate, why is this? How to control this?

A:Itching in old age is caused by a number of causes. Most commonly it is due senility itself. This can betaken care of by moisturising skin (Dew Derm lotion/cream or Elovera cream) and using mild soap like Dove soap, Dew Derm Soap or Oilatum bar. Other causes could be dermatological disorders, systemic disorders, endocrine causes (diabetes mellitus) etc. Please consult a dermatologist for full work up and proper treatment. For urinary incontinence problem, consult a gynaecologist.
