Why has my daughter's urine frequency decreased?

Q: My 11 months old daughter had fever last week and was on antibiotic Cefuroxime for five days. The doctor did her urine culture examination as earlier she had two episodes of urine infection. Ever since she got fever, her urine passing frequency has reduced to 4-5 times in a day. Earlier it was 10-11 times. This time her urine culture report is negative. Is there anything to worry?

A:Anatomical defects of urinary tract developments, especially vesicoureteric reflux, have to be excluded in children presenting with recurrent urine infection. You must see a pediatric Urologist after couple of weeks of resolution of present infection. After complete clinical evaluation, anatomical studies like ultrasonography and micturating cystogram may have to be done as felt necessary.
