Q: I am a 36 years old diabetic man and had recently developed itching and burning sensations on my penis. After controlling my blood sugar, the same got reduced and is now gone. Now there is some scab formation on the foreskin of my penis due to which I am unable to pull back the skin. Please advise.

A:If you are unable to pull back the foreskin, then it seems you have developed phimosis. This usually results from repeated or chronic inflammation of the preputial margin. In diabetics, it is usually due to infection by fungus called candida. In some cases (which are mild) it may get ok with medication. In others surgical correction maybe required.
