Why am I getting recurrent boils on my fingers?

Q: I frequently get boils on my fingers. I am not able to find any remedy for this. My family doctor gave me an injection against some allergy and the effect of the injection lasted for a month or 2 but the boils have started coming again. They mostly occur on my middle finger, thumb and my second finger. They never occur on my little or index finger. I am trying Sofradex, which provides temporary resolution as the boils don't stop, but the cuts due to the boils are resolved. What is to be done for the same?

A:The condition may be due to contact dermatitis to metals, if you wear rings on these fingers. Localised pustular psoriasis; pompholyx or an id eruption due to a distant fungal infection may be responsible. An examination of all skin fold areas, including the interdigital spaces to rule out fungal infections & a skin biopsy would help in making a definitive diagnosis.
