white discharge
Q: My wife is having a problem. She is suffering from a slight pain (occasionally) in the lower abdomen accompanied with white discharge (leucorrhoea) in lesser quantity. We had consulted about this problem with a gynaecologist. He advised us to do an ultrasonography of the pelvic region. In the sonography report it said that there is an enlargement of the right ovary. The size of the right ovary is 4.5 X 3.1cm and left ovary 2.5 X 1.6cm. The doctor has prescribed antibiotic (Norflox - 400mg) twice daily for 7 days. Please let me know what actually is the problem and the diagnosis.
A:For the leucorrhoea, get a pap smear and urine culture done. The slight increase in the right ovary size is not much to worry about at present.
