What should I feed my 5-month-old son?
Q: My baby was 2.3 kg at birth. Since I did not have milk, he was brought up on NAN 1. Today he is 5 months old and weighs 5.7 kg. Cow's milk was introduced to him in the 3rd month. Now the problem is that while he is awake, he does not take any feed. He takes feeds only when he is asleep. What should be fed to him? What should be his daily calcium & vitamin intake? He has been brought up on formula feed therefore I fear that something is wrong with his health.
A:Start with cereals - like rice based cereals, mashed banana, potato / vegetables. You must introduce water once he starts taking these solids. His milk intake should gradually reduce. Don't use cow milk. Try buffalo milk instead.
