What kind of anaesthesia do I need?

Q: What is the ideal anaesthesia for percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) procedure (single shot epidural, intrathecal or general anaesthesia)?

A:PCNL procedure is usually time consuming. The patient has to lie in an uncomfortable position and a lot of irrigation fluid overflow can make it more uncomfortable and can induce hypothermia, etc. In our hospital we have been using general anaesthesia since last 20 years without much problem and I recommend the same for your set up.
