What is the treatment for sub-mucosal fibrosis?

Q: I have been diagnosed with oral sub-mucosal fibrosis due to chewing of tobacco for the last 8 years. I have undergone treatment for trismus for 6 months with injections in the mouth. The drugs given were Hyalin and Wycort but the condition remains the same. I have stopped taking further treatment. What precautions should I take? I have stopped chewing tobacco.

A:There is no specific curative treatment for sub-mucous fibrosis. Non-specific immuno-modulators / steroids are the treatment. It should be kept under follow up.
