What is the reason of swelling of the testicles?

Q: I had pain on the right side of my abdomen and in the right testicle. I underwent appendectomy 6 years ago. I consulted an urologist after an abdominal ultrasound but there was no problem. He referred me to a gastrointestinal surgeon. After colonoscopy and biopsy, it was found that I have intestinal tuberculosis . He prescribed AKT4 for 6 months and AKT3 for 2 months. I am taking AKT3 for the past 2 months. Now there is no problem in my stomach. I gained 5 kg also, but the pain in the right testicle has not gone. The testicle swells and the pain extends to the back, right side of the waist and the thigh. The pain starts abruptly and continues for the whole day. At times I feel burning sensation through the leg. When I go for motion the swelling clearly appears and after motion it goes away. Urologists could not notice any swelling and said that my feeling is psychological. All the ultrasound findings were normal. But I am not getting relief from the pain. This problem started after I got married. I am also experiencing impotency ever since I got married. Please give me a solution.

A:Your pain and occasional swelling in the testicle is suggestive of some problem. Either it should be a hernia appearing on straining or a varicocoele (bunch of veins) which your urologist should be able to pick. Sometime pain in testicles is a referred pain secondary from a problem in the kidney. If you wish you could have a second opinion from another urologist on these points.
