Q: I had an angioplasty done and a stent placed in a heart vessel about 3 weeks back. The procedure was uneventful. But I experience a slight pain in the chest area and a sharp pricking/pinching sensation in the heart, which is quite disturbing. What may be the reason?

A:This is quite normal in post angioplasty patients and the reason is generally neuromuscular. However, if it is persistent or severe, please get in touch with you cardiologist as soon as possible.
