What is the correct treatment for psoriasis?
Q: My sister is 13 years old and is suffering from psoriasis. The disease has spread to the back of her hand and near the backbone in an oval and round shape. We have used allopathy, homeopathy and ayurvedic medicines but the disease is not under control. It increases in winters. How can it be treated?
A:Psoriasis is a chronic disease and is almost life long. The intensity and severity of the disease varies from time to time. Aim is to control the disease and enable the patient to lead as comfortable a life as is possible. There are a number of drugs which are used in combination. The choice will depend primarily on the extent of the disease and other underlying problems. It will also depend upon the patient's lifestyle and preferences.
