What is a fetogram test for?

Q: What is a fetogram test and why is it done and when should it be done?

A:A fetogram is one of the technical words used for the evaluation of the unborn child with the aim of excluding or identifying structural developmental abnormalities. This usually involves a detailed ultrasound scan at about 20 weeks of pregnancy and in very rare cases an X-Ray in the last three months of pregnancy. It reveals the structure of the fetus from head to toe. Both are safe for the mother and the unborn child.
