What are the chances of survival of kidney transplant patient?
Q: If a 32 year old female, requires kidney dialysis, then what are the chances of her survival?
A:Longevity on dialysis depends on the original disease, which caused the renal failure. The frequency of dialysis should be at least three times a week, for four hours each time. The quality of dialysis, whether the prescription for each dialysis is being planned by the nephrologist concerned and not left in the hands of the technicians. It is a shame not to have kidney transplant done for such a young patient. If no donor is available, the patient should be on a cadaver transplant waiting list.
