What are itching scars?

Q: I am suffering from a skin disease which has resulted in scars and itches too much. I have not consulted any doctor but I do apply Soframycin (antiseptic cream) but it has not been that effective. Surprisingly the scars feel smooth and good on somedays making me feel that it might improve, while on other days they are rough and I feel like scrubbing them. Awaiting your help.

A:Scars that itch are usually keloids and these are recalcitrant to treatment. There should be some preceding damage of the skin. You probably have lichen simplex chronicus. A visit to your local Dermatologist should be helpful.
