Ulcers in throat and tongue
Q: I am 27, working in the dealing department of a mutual fund. I have to talk a lot on phone. I frequently get ulcers in throat and inner end of tongue (once in 2 months). Can it be just bacterial infection/tonsillitis or is it a work related problem? Throat swab was done earlier and no bacteria were found.
A:Your ulcers do not appear to be bacterial infection. These appear to be aphthous ulcers. You can try out the following medicines initially - Zytee lotion, apply twice daily over the tongue; Cap Zevit daily once; Tantum oral rinses thrice daily. In case there is no response you need to see an ENT specialist.
