Stroke and backache

Q: My father is 67 years of age. For the last one year he has been feeling weakness in his legs. MRI-lumbosacral spine, showed posterocentral protrusion in L4-5 and L5-S1 and was under treatment for one month. Last week, he became unconscious for about 3 hours and he told us that he was able to listen everything but was not able to communicate his feelings. CT scan of head showed--bilateral parasylvian established infarcts with mild cummunicating hydrocephalus. Can you tell me what is this and what is its treatment please?

A:Your father has had a stroke and appears to have recovered. There was less blood to his brain when he became unconscious. He has to take Tablet Preva 75mg and Tablet Ecosprin 75mg once daily. The backache is separate and due to a disc problem for which one Vitamin preparation is enough. Travistaz LA may be reduced and stopped.
