sarcoidosis and uveitis
Q: What is the recent management of Sarcoidosis and its prognosis? Management may be specified in reference to Uveitis and diagnostic tools for confirmation of Sarcoidosis.
A:Steroids constitute the most important medication for the treatment of Sarcoidosis. However, not every patient needs treatment. Rarely other immunosuppressive therapy is given. Uveitis is often treated with local steroids, however, some prefer to use systemic steroids as well for a short time. The prognosis is very variable and depends on where the disease is and how it behaves in that particular patient. Diagnosis is by biopsy of the affected tissue. This is not always necessary.
