Pain on the face

Q: Sometimes I get pain on my face which makes it difficult to swallow liquids, brush my teeth and even talk properly. I got a few blood tests and ECG done but all the reports are normal but my doctor has advised me to undergo surgery. Please suggest.

A:From your description it appears that you are suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia. It is desirable that you see a Neurosurgeon for confirming the diagnosis. Many such patients can be managed without surgery with the use of the drug Mazetol or an injection into the nerve. This can be decided only by the specialist.
