Pain in knees
Q: I have got pain in my knees due to jogging. I tried ice packs and ointment as suggested by a local doctor. My right leg is fine now but the left one still pains when I walk for a long time. The pain is almost like a burning sensation and I hear a squeaking sound when I sit or bend my knee. Please recommend.
A:It appears that you have damaged the cartilage inside the knee and this must be carefully assessed since leaving the damaged cartilage in knee can damage knee very quickly. You may need an operation to remove the damaged piece which can be done through a small opening called arthroscopic surgery. I suggest that you should see an orthopaedic surgeon soon.
