My mother has breast cancer, what are the chances of cure?

Q: My mother-in-law has breast cancer . She got it operated and underwent chemotherapy and radiation last year. Now she is taking homeopathy. Doctors said she should be careful for 2-3 years. Is there any possibility of recurrence of the disease? She is in grade II. If this disease does not occur again then how long she can live? She is now 49 years old. A:Your mother-in-law has cancer breast. Her chances of cure depend on the size of the tumour and number of axillary nodes involved. If size of tumour is less than 1 cm and no lymph node involved, then chance of cure exceeds 95%+. Where as if size of tumour is 4 cm and no. of lymph nodes involved are more than 3, then chance of cure is about 40-50%. Persons who are cured lead a normal quality of life. The majority of patients relapse in the first five years of their diagnosis. If the disease does not relapse in first five years, then the chance of recurrence is less than 5%.
