Q: Our girl child, now 3.5 months old, weighs about 8.25 kg. and the doctor says she is a bit overweight. We give her nothing other than breast feeding. What to be done for this? Why she is overweight although only breastfeeding is there. My wife is vegetarian so she takes only vegeterian food.

A:Some babies may gain weight rapidly in first few months after birth even though they are on breast feeds. Usually this gets corrected as they grow. Please get your child examined by your pediatrician to check if she is otherwise fine.
