Is itching sensation in the anus normal after surgery for haemorrhoids?
Q: I am 26 years old, and I underwent haemorrhoidectomy 20 days back. Now once in a while I get itching sensation in my anal opening. Is it normal after surgery? If not, what should I do to get rid of it? Can I join the gymnasium? Because I remember one of my friend telling that haemorrhoids will recur as a side effect of some exercise for legs. Please guide me.
A:Some amount of anal discomfort is common after surgery, I am sure it will go away. However, you have to check whether your continence (control over stools) is alright. Occasionally a fissure develops after surgery which gets better on its own. Avoid constipation, but certainly you can join a gym.
