Is it necessary to investigate an old head injury in children?

Q: Two weeks back my son fell backwards on a tiled floor with his head banging on the floor. He is doing fine with no complaints of vomiting or headache or any discharge from nose or ears. He plays around and is eating well. Do I still need to go for any investigation to rule out internal injury(as advised by the doctor here)?

A:If your child is well, no further tests need to be done. You have not written how old your son is. Sometimes in small children, symptoms develop late. Only if and when symptoms appear, should tests be done.
