Q: For kidney transplantation is it necessary that the kidney donor and the recipient should have the same blood group?
A:O blood group is a universal donor in transplantation. AB is a universal recipient. Blood group A recipients can accept O and A group donors. B group recipients can accept O and B group donors. Rh is not important in transplant, meaning that Rh +ve donor can donate to Rh -ve recipient.
