Is atopic eczema curable?

Q: Is atopic eczema curable by allopathic medicines? How long will it take? I have consulted many doctors for last 9 years, but it could not be cured so far? At present only LOBET GM is being applied twice daily. But once it is stopped the aggravation is there.

A:Atopic eczema is a manifestation of a trait where skin is dry and itchy. It is itch which produces eczema. We have to keep our skin hydrated by applying oils over the skin after bath, use less irritating soaps, avoid certain foods & clothing, the house needs to be set in order (removing any mats etc), avoid air conditioned rooms or use humidifiers in AC rooms. This eczema usually remits with age. Tapering of steroids has to be done. You may use Elocon or Flutivate or Flutibact (in case of infection).
