Is Alburel suitable for dialysis patient?
Q: My 48 years old mother is suffering from kidney disease. She is presently on dialysis. Is Alburel 20% in 100 ml suitable for her? What is the correct procedure for taking this medicine?
A:Alburel (Albumin) 20% is sometimes used in dialysis patients to help low blood pressure caused by fluid removal with dialysis. It is generally safe in most patients including kidney patients. It is given intravenously (directly into blood). In dialysis patients, this is done by giving this medicine through dialysis machine.
