If a child has a big head, will he become hyperactive?

Q: My son is 1 year 9 months old; the size of his head is 20 inches while mine is 22 and my husband's is 24 inches. He won't sit idle for a minute. Everybody at home scolds him for this, ever since he has started walking he has become overactive. Is this normal? When we consulted doctor they told us to take a C.T. scan but the report says that everything is normal. Please tell me what might be the reason for a big head? I searched many web sites but I didn't get an answer. Will he become hyperactive?

A:The normal range for the head size at two years is 47 to 50 cm (8,5 to 20 inches) I do not know who has told you that your child has a big head, but as you can see it lies in the normal range. Once they learn to walk, children are constantly on the move. This is considered NORMAL. Please do not call this hyperactive at the age of less than two years. Please stop worrying without any reason.
