How to treat headache associated with sinusitis?

Q: I am suffering from acute headache (forehead) . Many times this continues for 4-5 dys together even after taking painkiller. This pain doesnt subside even after sound sleep.There is burning sensation & pain in my eyes during headache. I have carried out following investigations.CT Scan: Normal Nose X ray:- Left sinus.I have taken antibiotic therapy suggested by doctor. I have chronic acidity problems.I generaly take ranitidine for acidity. I have last 8 kgs weight in last two years (from 58 kgs to 50 kgs).

A:The headache is likely to be due to sinusitis. You have mentioned a normal CT scan - probably a head CT? It is unlikely to pick up any sinus disease.You should get a Plain CT scan of the Paranasal Sinuses (axial & coronal cuts). You also need to see an ENT specialist who deals with sinusitis to confirm if this is the cause of your headaches.
