How to manage repeated viral infections in a child?

Q: My son is 3+ yrs old. He was treated for TB earlier this year for 7 months and the reports were normal after that. But now he easily gets repeated viral ifections with cough. What should I do?

A:It seems your baby suffers from allergic coughs and cold. Some of the babies during first 4-6 years of life are more prone to this. Otherwise also children during first five years may normally have 5-6 episodes of viral infections every year. These may come in clusters during season for viral fevers like rainy season. Even then you should get in touch with your pediatrician who, after examining and if any investigations are required, shall be able to tell you whether he suffers from any other disease. If he is otherwise active, eating well and growing well you can relax.
