Q: Recently I have become mother of a baby boy. But from day one I did not have milk and so I gave outside milk. But second day I had milk, but my son did not take my milk. Now I have to give him outside milk only as he is not breast feeding. Please advise me what to do.

A:It is unfortunate that you started bottle feeding your baby when you did not have enough breast milk. The breast nipple and that of a bottle are very different and therefore once a baby gets used to a bottle it is very difficult to get them to accept the breast and it takes a lot of hard work. In order to get the baby to breast feed I would suggest the following: a) You do not use a bottle at all b) You feed the baby only at the breast and if the baby does not take a full feed or there is not enough milk from the breast, then cup and spoon feed the baby with any baby formula until the breast milk increases. With regular breast feeding the milk will increase. c) As the breast milk increases you will not need to give any supplement.
