How do I make my child leave his habit of bottle feeding?

Q: My 2 years old baby wakes up at every night and asks for his milk bottle. Though I always try to calm down him but he starts crying and I have to give him his bottle. He does not want to leave his bottle and takes milk only when given in bottle. He is a fussy eater and doesn't take proper meals, so I give him his milk bottle at night when he asks for. I know it is a wrong practice. Please suggest me what should I do.

A:Your child at 2 years is no longer a baby but a toddler. At two years, a child does not need to be bottle-fed. Night time feeding is not necessary once a baby is 6-7 kilos in weight. I can only suggest that you stop giving a bottle at night or any kind of feeding at night. The actual doing has to be done by you. You may need to leave him to cry for a few days or change his feeding pattern before sleeping. All this is really a trial and error experience and each baby is different.
