How do I get rid of neck and shoulder pain?
Q: I am a 29 years old male and my MRI scan of cervical spine reports loss of lumbar lordosis and evidence of mild diffuse disc bulge with right sided propensity seen at C5-C6 level resulting in partial stenosis of right neural foramina. I am on leave from my work for the last four months. I have undergone physiotherapy and taken lots of medication. Physiotherapy helped me a lot initially but I have started having pain again on the right side of my neck, the shoulder joint and the arm. What should I do?
A:Your arm pain is a result of the right sided C5-6 disc herniation. If it has not resolved on its own in the last 4 months, I would advise you surgery to get rid of the symptoms. The surgery would involve C5-6 discectomy followed by either fusion or artificial disc replacement.
