How can we protect ourselves from exposure to carcinogenic chemicals?
Q: I work in a chemical company, where I am exposed to chemicals, which are highly carcinogenic. For example – Nitroso, which is highly potentially carcinogenic. Even though we practice safety measures, we feel that we are exposed to it while handling it. How does it react in our body? Are there any techniques available to identify the reaction at an early stage? What type of diet should we take to overcome the effects of such carcinogenic chemicals?
A:Most in haled toxins act through lung irritation and are treated with anti-asthma drugs. Long term exposure is best treated with antioxidants, such as fruit juice or garlic. These may help in unfortunate situations where continued exposure to toxic materials cannot be avoided.
