How can piles be treated?

Q: I am a 39 years old woman and had piles banding done yesterday under general anaesthesia and today all 3 bands appeared in the toilet. I have a bit of bleeding and some pain. Is this normal? I am scheduled for a follow up appointment in 3 months, which was made after surgery yesterday. Please advise.

A:Normally we band only one pile at a time as banding all three at one time is painful. You should make another appointment with your surgeon, as the banding will not have worked if all three bands fell out immediately after banding.
