How can I have 6-pack-abs without hurting my back?
Q: I am a 30 years old male, 178 cm tall and weigh 90 kg. I have lower back pain but want to have 6 pack abs. Please advise me some exercises which would help to attain my goal with out harming my back further.
A:A six-pack abs set is a function of many factors: abdominal crunches being only one of them. Firstly, the fat that lies around the belly (and other parts of the body) needs to be taken care of by aerobic exercise. Secondly, what you eat should be less than that what you spend in terms of calories. And thirdly, you need to do resistance/strength/weight bearing exercises for all parts of the body for the best results and for prevention of injury to the weaker parts that are not looked after. So, if you are doing too many ab crunches, and not as many back extensions to strengthen your back, you would tend to have back pain. Do get it checked if there is another reason for the pain.
