How can I give my daughter a better education?

Q: I have a 1.8 years old daughter. We are living in a joint family and she is the youngest. I am a graduate and working as a graphic designer, my wife is a housewife and her education is 10 plus 2. I am worried for my daughter's education as my wife is not educated enough to teach her. And, I don't have much time to teach and play with my daughter. My daughter has a bad habit of slapping everyone. How can I help her stop this habit?

A:Your daughter is 1.8 years old (not even two years old) and you are worrying about her education! Please make sure she has unconditional affection from both parents, nutritious food, cooked without spices, proper sleep and rest periods and lots of play. As for education, 10 plus 2 is high enough for the mother to help her in the first 5 or 6 years of school at least. In any case, it is the school's job to teach the child formal reading and writing. Do not think of your child as a machine part that fits into the school machine, but as an individual who has come into your life to enrich it. As the youngest child in a joint family, she may be getting whatever she wants. She will get over it as she grows up, but it is good to set limits.
