Q: I have white heads on my skin, face, arms, shoulders, back and scalp too. Can you please tell me what I need to do? I also have very sensitive skin which develops rash after pressure is applied on any part.

A:If I am correct, you are probably referring to acne vulagaris (white heads). For the face, during day time you can use benzoyl peroxide gel (Brevoxyl gel) over the face and trunk and use Acne-aid soap daily. At night time use, adapalene gel (Deriva or Adaferin gel) after washing and drying the face (use on face only). Initially for 10 minutes per day at night, adapalene gel can be applied and then washed off with soap and water. Gradually every week, increase the duration of application by 10 minutes till you reach 3o minutes. If no irritation is observed, it can be left overnight. Results will be seen in 6 weeks to 6 months time.
