A:IgA Nephropathy can be a very mild disease with very good prognosis and long-term kidney survival. In few patients it may have a severe aggressive course and patient requires dialysis or kidney transplant. How well a patient does depends on the severity of kidney disease and the rate of deterioration of kidney function. Even when kidney function is lost, long-term survival is possible with dialysis or kidney transplantation.
