Q: I have been suffering from cold and sinus problem for many years. Recently I was told that I have to get it operated as one side of my nose bone is not properly aligned. I would like to know whether this operation will cure my cold and sinus problem? Also will it be a permanent solution ?

A:If the partition between the two sides of your nose is very twisted then an operation to correct it should enable you to breathe well through both sides of your nose and also allow the sinuses to drain. It should cure your sinus problems but will not stop you getting colds.
