Does pain persist after varicocoele surgery?
Q: I had an operation for left varicocoele some 6 months back; the very next month of under going this operation my wife got pregnant. Does this operation increase the quantity and quality of semen? Even after 6 months I still feel little pain at that portion. The doctor says its still healing and to wait. Please let me know how that can be cured? Shall I undergo sonography for my sex organs once again? Shall I undergo operation once again? Please reply.
A:The indication of your varicocoele surgery is not clear from your mail. Whether it was pain or infertility. The semen quality may improve after varicocoele surgery, though it usually takes more than three months. The physician needs to know about the site of persisting pain, is it the scar site or the scrotum. You must visit a urologist who will also examine you before advising any further investigations.
