Does my child too have attention deficit disorder?

Q: My son will be 3 years old next year. His teacher at the daycare is concerned with his lack of ability to stay on task. He frequently interrupts me and his dad when we are reading books to him, but only to try and read them himself. He is stubborn and does not like to eat much. He is extremely active and only sits still to watch movies. What can we do to increase his ability to stay on task and focus. Our 8 years old daughter is a slow learner and has ADHD, but my son has none of the symptoms she had, except for defiance and inability to stay on a task.

A:It seems your daughter has been assessed for ADHD by a professional psychologist. It would be desirable to get your son assessed too. Each child is different from another and there can be several types of problems. Though one hopes that your son does not suffer from any disorder, it would still require professional assessment to come to a proper conclusion. After the assessment, kindly follow the advice given by the psychologist.
