Does my child need a surgery?

Q: My daughter aged 4.5 years is studying in KG class. She has a problem of repeating four to five word sentence a number of times in a day for the last four days. We consulted a doctor for her urine problem who advised us to get her urine portion operated (which is a minor operation as per the doctor). Doctor, please advise us.

A:These are innocent statements that your child is making without any connotations. Do not give undue attention to them. Your child will grow out of them. Regarding the minor operation, it is not quite clear what the real problem is. It appears to be the labial lips may be stuck to each other. The way to identify it is to separate the two lips and see if the vaginal opening is visible. If it is not, and there is a thin membrane connecting the lips, then one would first advise the use of oestrogen creams locally which can help break the membrane. If that doesn't help, then maybe a small procedure may be required.
