Does chronic kidney disease cause gastritis?

Q: I am a 31 years old male suffering from stage 2 chronic kidney disease (CKD). My physical appearance is very sound but I have an elevated level of urea, creatinine and uric acid. I get gastric problem after having my meals. I feel very uncomfortable due to this. Consequently, my urine pressure becomes weak and sometimes I have constipation.

A:Stage 2 CKD does not cause or aggravate gastric problems. I think your gastric trouble is a separate issue from CKD. I suggest you see a gastroenterologist for a thorough examination and work up that may require endoscopy. For CKD, please continue to follow up with your nephrologist to determine the exact cause and to guide you through all the necessary measures like blood pressure control, diabetes control if you have diabetes, measures to lower protein in the urine, if you have any etc. to prevent worsening of CKD over time.
